My Volant Experience (2004 CTS w/ 3.6L):

Assembly...(Go to Install Instructions)

Firstly, here is the ONLY sheet Volant sends:

Not too helpful, eh? ;)

This is the assembly of the unit. I will include one shot with the parts, and a second shot with the parts installed.

For the entire assembly and installation, you will need:
1 Measuring Tape
1 Flat-Head Screwdriver
1 Philips Screwdriver
1 Needle Nose Pliers
1 Socket Wrench
1 10mm Socket
1 11mm Socket
1 Utility (Box-Cutter) Knife
Enough of your favorite Beverage to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours (depending on DIY skill-level and time spent tinkering).

Here we go...

Take the strip of Rubber Trim and put it on the Circular Fender Well opening on the Volant Airbox. Some force may be required.

Install the Filter in the Airbox with its Hoseclamp. A Flat-Head Screwdriver will do the trick.

Attach the Rubber Hump Hose to the long end of the Air Duct with its Hose Clamp.

Attach the Rubber Sleeve to the short end of the Air Duct with its Hose Clamp.

Attach the Black L-Bracket to the Airbox with the Flat Washer, Locking Washer, and Bolt. Use an 11mm socket. Put the Locking Washer on the Bolt FIRST, then put the Flat Washer on, then through the L-Bracket, and into the Airbox. Note: In my second picture, the L-Bracket is up-side-down. It should "hang down" from the Airbox, as the mount is lower than the top of the Airbox.

Put one end of the Volant Breather Hose onto the Air Duct nipple. You may want to use a Utility Knife to cut the Hose, first. A length of 3 to 4 inches worked great for me.

Voila! (Go to Install Instructions)
