I use a stock wheel and bald RF as a spare. I cleaned it WELL... cuz I figured I'll be heading to a wedding in a tux when I get a flat
Insert the tire "upside down":
Factory Jack/Handle/Container in place - use "big factory wingnut" to secure
With the tire upside down, the lid fits fine.
And, there are cut-outs in the fairings for the factory jack!
To remove the tub:
Thanks urbanski
You can fit a full spare tire in the V, however you must place it face down or the cardboard cover will not fit over the tire once installed in the trunk (the tire is too wide and the bolt is not long enough).
First remove the "tub" from the trunk.
To do this: look in your trunk and remove the big round plastic "screw-like" thing to remove the carpet cover for the tub
To remove the tub simply unscrew 4 plastic "knobs" holding the rear carpet panel in place, unscrew the large metal nut securing the tub, and pull her out It's darn heavy.
Install the spare tire in the hole and drive away
